The Fundamentals 

A thorough job brief is what guarantees everything falls into place. It should include material specifications, quantities, Pantone colours, delivery instructions, and a timeline.  

A spreadsheet is our bible for any ‘go-to’ information. It encompasses every detail from: store, address, contact number, quantity, size, media and any visuals. Ensuring the artwork and spreadsheet are aligned, guarantees full coordination. If we were to manually revisit every project, we could overrun the deadline, which is where the spreadsheet comes in handy.  

To maintain full communication throughout this process, we can update the client and account handler, of where we are. Staying in touch, also means they can also keep us informed of possible changes like dates, artwork, and addresses. 

Product Capabilities

We have all the printing technology needed to produce high quality, large scale, retail rollouts. This includes, solvent, aqueous, dye-sub and UV. 3.2m is the width of our widest machines, but a sheet size is 4m x 2m. We accommodate for various materials, such as vinyl, fabric, or rigid substrates; We have found there is a method and way we can produce print on essentially anything. We have vast amounts of production space including storage racking and tables, for the jobs that require large amounts of benchwork. 

We offer specialty finishes or laminations for improved visual appeal and durability. We can have a finish to match a spec, from floor grade laminate with anti-slip, anti-graffiti, matt, satin, or gloss.  

Too many options? Creating a retail campaign may appear daunting to those unfamiliar with the process. However, rest assured. We at KGK Genix have not only encountered these challenges but have also successfully navigated them time and time again.

Artwork

This is part of the process that clients will have most engagement with. When supplying their designs or artwork (if already designed) it would ideally be submitted as a PDF, however, we can artwork from many formats. It’s preferable for clients to supply packaged Adobe InDesign or Illustrator formats. Due to the nature of what we do, we often need to adjust the artwork, such as, add cut contours or install bleed. We have greater flexibility if files are supplied in these formats.  

What sets us apart from a lot of the competition, is our in-house design studio. It allows for a much more seamless process from design to print: our designers know what our printers expect, and our printers know what to expect from our designers. 

KGK Genix recently invested in a new web-based system to streamline the proofing process. This system automatically notifies reviewers via email, when a file is uploaded. Reviewers can then inspect every element of the PDF and provide comments if needed. What makes this system remarkable is that it displays the PDF exactly as it would be printed. This eliminates common issues with email proofs. Moving forward, it ensures a ‘What You See Is What You Get’ experience. 

Delivery And Installation 

We use overnight, reliable delivery companies and have same day or direct delivery options available. We provide automated tracking options for the client’s security. We have the same process on all jobs, so that every person is signing at each stage, that what is in front of them is correct to the job sheet. 

What if something goes wrong? In any rare case of issues or defects during the production process, they are addressed with quality control checks in each area. These are also checked with a signature from the individual at each part. 

Installation is where the magic happens! All our installers are checked and picked to their precise skill set. They are certified by annual meetings, where we meet and agree paths on any improvements needed throughout the year. All held to high external Safe-contractor accreditation standards. This confirms high standards are met and continued.
