The Natural History Museum (NHM) is a world-renowned organisation dedicated to showcasing the wonders of the natural world. KGK Genix had the privilege of working with the Natural History Museum Gift Shop to create an artistic Christmas campaign across two of its stores. The objective was to transform the retail spaces within the museum into enchanting and festive environments, providing visitors with a unique but themed shopping experience. KGK Genix took on the challenge of conceptualising, producing, and installing the Christmas campaign across two NHM stores: the London store and the Cranbourne store. The project involved the use of a variety of materials.
Sturdy and lightweight, these materials were utilised for creating custom displays, signage, and decorative elements. These can withstand the high foot traffic expected during the Christmas period and can be fully recycled.
High-quality vinyl was employed for vibrant and detailed graphics, added to various surfaces within the stores. Vinyl graphics were crucial in conveying the Christmas theme and promoting special holiday offers.
To evoke the sense of a winter wonderland, KGK Genix incorporated artificial snow, strategically placing it on displays, windows, and other surfaces. This is another environmentally friendly product, contributing to the ethical design of the shop fitout.
The Cranbourne store featured a large backdrop that served as a focal point for the Christmas campaign. The backdrop, made from durable materials, showcased a captivating winter scene, enhancing the overall ambience of the space. It featured a similar theme to the T-rex display we created for the NHM previously.
The Natural History Museum Gift Shop, a temporary fit-out, successfully complemented the museum’s commitment to education and entertainment while fostering a festive spirit among customers.
